Our School Pranami Balika Vidya Mandir had a very active and enthusiastic academic year, with active participation from both students and teachers in all the events of the school.

This years’ academic session started with the observance of World Environment Day on 5th June. Students from all four houses—Indira, Nevidita, Sarojini, and Teresa—worked hard in tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, and poster-making competitions to promote environmental awareness. On 21st June, school celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. Students and teachers gathered on the school ground to perform various yoga asanas under the guidance of instructors of Himalaya Yog Sanstha. The instructor highlighted the importance of yoga for a healthy mind and body. The event promoted fitness, discipline, and mental well-being among all. In the month of July the school honored the famous Nepali poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya on his 211th birth anniversary. Students from each house recited his poems, speeches on him, and cultural acts to reflect the poet’s major contribution to Nepali language and culture. The school held a Freshers’ Welcome Program to greet our new Class XI students in the month of July. The event featured cultural shows and interactive sessions that made the newcomers feel instantly comfortable and receptive. The school also felicitated our school alumna Miss Priya Basor for her remarkable achievement of our and prestigious role of Scientific Officer C (Group A Gazetted ) at the Atomic Mineral Directorate, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. Our school became equipped with a Smart Board through the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, facilitated by the Office of the District Magistrate under the SEED program with finance from IDBI Bank.

In August, our school participated in the 79th Independence Day with Inter-School Parade Competition and stood 1st among the various schools in Kalimpong District. The students of our school demonstrated excellent discipline and unity, with their outstanding performance. The school also observed IEC activity week of Shikshashree, Medhashree and Oasis scholarships for SC, ST and OBC students of the school. The same month 12th Kanyashree Day was observed in Kalimpong District featuring various programmes organized by the Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, including an inter-school reels competition on Cyber Security and Threats, where our school achieved third place among various schools in Kalimpong.

In the month of October, an INTER SCHOOL SCIENCE EXHIBITION was formally inaugurated at Pranami Balika Vidya Mandir in Kalimpong, organized by the Sanyukta Madhyamik Sikshak Sangathan in association with Vigyan Pratibha Regional Centre (IISER Kolkata), serving Kalimpong and Darjeeling District. This endeavor garnered support from HBCSE, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, and the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India where our Science team from secured the ‘Best Exhibit’ Award.

Overall, the activities throughout the year gave students valuable chances to develop teamwork, creativity, discipline, and social responsibility. It was a truly inspiring and successful year for the entire Pranami Balika Vidya Mandir family.
